31 December 2026 to 3 January 2027
Three nights. A new year. One desert. One tribe.
Nobody in this room has ever heard the phrase “less is more”, and nobody wants to.
Desert kings and queens, ancient dynasties. Opulent gold, silk and tiaras. This is not the night for minimalism.
Family lunch in the garden, then a sunset experience. White on white, pearls and feathers.
Pool party. Disco balls, big sunglasses, technicolour dreams and outrageous 80s vibes.
Think of the royalty who rule the land, the dynasty who hold the power. Enter a world of desert kings and queens, ancient dynasties and powerful tribes. Meet the Sun King, the Sun Queen, the Royal Tribe and the Keepers of the Flame.
The aesthetic is opulent: gold, silk, tiaras, beiges, sparkles, sand, rich flowing fabrics. Bold, glamorous and extravagant. This is not the night for minimalism. Be unapologetically over the top.
It's time to fully immerse ourselves in the first light of the new year. We come together as a family to bless the year ahead. Also, the all-important debrief from the night before.
A late lunch, elegantly set up in a beautiful, relaxed garden. After lunch we head out on a special sunset excursion: a hedonistic experience in one of the most scenic locations around, with homemade cocktails and canapés.
This is a new dawn. White light symbolises ultimate purity, spiritual illumination and the clear consciousness of the divine.
The desert is about to get much brighter. Bring all the colours and sparkles and bring it to life: disco balls, big sunglasses, technicolour dreams and outrageous old-school 80s vibes.
Colourful swimwear, statement cover-ups and poolside glamour. A shimmering mirage where the pool becomes our dance floor, the sun becomes our spotlight and the desert transforms into a psychedelic playground.
Keep an eye on the desert for wildlife, and be as wild as you can.
Thursday 31 December to Sunday 3 January. Base camp is Planet Xancara at Witklip Farm, Elands Bay. It's a 3 hour drive from Cape Town, and there will be holiday traffic, so plan to leave Cape Town at 11:00.
You all have a beautiful glamping tent, and you'll know where to go when you arrive.
